Installation instructions
1   Operating system and hardware requirements
     Windows 7 64-bit (Home Premium)
     Windows 7 64-bit (Professional)
     Windows 7 64-bit (Ultimate)
     Windows 10 (Home)
     Windows 10 (Pro)
     Windows 10 (Enterprise)
    

·    A personal computer (PC) which can run one of the above operating systems (for more information, refer to Microsoft guidelines).

·    At least 350 MB free disk memory.

·    Small font size required; minimum screen resolution must be 1024x768 pixels.

·    A mouse supported by Microsoft Windows.

·    To connect SINAMICS V-ASSISTANT for communication, the following devices are required:
     -  a USB cable (To ensure the stability of online commissioning, Siemens recommends you to use a shielded USB cable of less than 3 m with magnetic rings on both ends.);
     -  a SINAMICS V90 drive.

2   Working environment
To install and use SINAMICS V-ASSISTANT under Windows 7/Windows 10, you must have logged in with the Administrator privilege.
Sleep mode is not allowed when using SINAMICS V-ASSISTANT. During online working mode or when SINAMICS V-ASSISTANT is accessing the project via Internet, PC in sleep mode may cause the following errors:
·    Accidental termination of online connection
·    Loss of project data in use

To avoid the above errors, please set the power-saving option to be triggered manually, so that the sleep mode cannot be triggered by the timer automatically. As stated above, while running the communication task, never trigger the sleep mode even manually.

SINAMICS V-ASSISTANT has passed the tests on the following operating systems:
·    Windows 7 (64-bit)
·    Windows 10

3   Installation
·    Close all the applications including MS-Office tool bar.
·    Start the installation program by double-clicking the Setup.exe file in the installation package.
·    Finish the installation according to the instructions on the screen.
    
    Notice:
    If you need to install SINAMICS V-ASSISTANT on Windows 7/Windows 10, you must log in with administrator access. 

4   Correction
Despite that we have tried our best to guarantee the correctness of the product files, we still find the following imperfection:
You can only run one SINAMICS V-ASSISTANT instance each time.
